According to a recent study in Sweden, homosexual couples are more likely to commit suicide than heterosexual couples.
Using the data of over 6,000 homosexual couples to a larger population of heterosexual couples, who got married between 1996 and 2009, the study which was titled “Suicide in married couples in Sweden: Is the risk greater in same-sex couples?” revealed that homosexual couples are 2.7 times likely to commit suicide.
Male homosexual couples were found to have a higher chance than homosexual women.
"Even in a country with a comparatively tolerant climate regarding homosexuality such as Sweden, same-sex married individuals evidence a higher risk for suicide than other married individuals," says an author from Life Site News.
Similar researches have been done in other European nations including Netherlands, which indicated a relationship between homosexual behaviour and a variety of negative psychological outcomes.
