Paul Pogba looks set to join Manchester United this summer

Paul Pogba will be handed the number six shirt at Manchester United next season, according to bookmakers BetStars.

The France midfielder continues to be heavily linked with a world-record transfer to the Old Trafford club even though there is yet to be any official announcement about the move.

Pogba has now jetted back to Europe after concluding his summer holiday by partying in Las Vegas, where he reportedly told reporters “we’ll see” when asked if he is expecting to join Manchester United this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to complete their fourth summer signing this week as Jose Mourinho prepares his squad for this weekend’s Community Shield clash against Leicester City.

However, the bookies claim to have inside information telling them that Pogba will be handed the number six shirt on his return to Manchester United this summer.

“The Pogba-to-Manchester United saga has been slowly rumbling on all summer, but with rumours of a medical being arranged as we speak, he’s now odds-on at 1/5 to complete his transfer during this week,“ said Ian Marmion, trading director at BetStars.

“We understand United have earmarked the number six shirt for their new recruit and he’s also odds-on at 4/6 to be given that squad number for the 2016-17 season.”

The France international left United to join Juventus in the summer of 2012 for next to nothing after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson.

He has since gone on to develop into one of Europe’s top midfielders and helped Juve win Serie A last season.
